Kalaignar Karunanidhi was very keen on two projects in his last term.One was the secretariat and the other was Anna Centenary Library.It was unfair that the building built for secretariat was converted to hospital.Anna Centenary Library survived.This library has became very helpful for people from various walks of life.It is very useful for people students involved in Research.Abilash Chandran spent lot of his time during his Ph.D in this library.
If Chennai has grown now to what it is today it is because of him.Various Infrastructure Projects were done in Chennai during the Vajpayee Government of which DMK held lot of important portfolios.
Vaiko made biggest mistake of his life by creating People welfare front in 2016 assembly elections.I'm not sure what he had achieved by it now.Kalaignar Karunanidhi would have died as Tamilnadu Chief Minister.If there was a mistake Kalaignar Karunanidhi did it was expelling Vaiko for the benefit of his son.
I think Parasakthi was a fine movie.I liked the political statements in that movie.There has been various criticisms that the movie is too loud.Pather Panchali was made around the same time. Nevertheless, it is a good film.It gave a brief outline of what was Dravidian Politics.It was a political statement.
Writer Jeyakanthan had told in his interviews that more than Periyar or Anna Kalaignar Karunanidhi was a genius.He was always right on forming alliances for parliamentary elections.His introduction of 3% internal reservation for Arunthathiyars was an important one.It would take decades for Tamilnadu to witness a charismatic leader like him.It would be very difficult for Tamilnadu to see a leader who was very keen that a world class library was built for the benefit of general public.He had a wonderful life with various happenings.May his soul rest in peace.
